Tratamento homeopático nas dermatoses crônicas do tipo líquen: estudo de caso revisitado após dez anos / Homeopathic treatment of lichen: 10 year follow-up-case reports

O objetivo do presente estudo foi a importância da homeopatia para o tratamento das patologias crônicas que não encontram boa resolução quando abordadas apenas de forma tradicional. Através de estudo de caso foram acompanhados e revisitados 2 casos clínicos com diagnóstico de líquen comprovados por biópsia que foram abordados inicialmente de modo convencional e que após tratamento sem sucesso, buscaram uma alternativa na homeopatia. Houve remissão dos processos crônicos em ambos os casos com bons resultados. Houve restabelecimento rápido duradouro e sem grandes efeitos indesejáveis no longo prazo em ambos os casos relatados, como preconizam os princípios da homeopatia em que "cura é o restabelecimento rápido, suave e duradouro da saúde". A homeopatia pode atuar de forma interdisciplinar junto ao tratamento convencional de doenças crônicas dermatológicas do tipo líquen, melhorando seus resultados. (AU)

The aim of the present study was to establish the relevance of homeopathy for treatment of chronic diseases when conventional treatment does not lead to satisfactory outcomes. We describe 2 cases of lichen confirmed on biopsy initially given conventional treatment. Due to therapeutic failure, the patients sought homeopathic treatment, which induced regression of disease. In both cases, cure occurred rapidly, was long-lasting action and without undesirable side effects, as established in homeopathy principles: "the highest ideal of cure is rapid, gentle and permanent restoration of health." Homeopathy might be considered for interdisciplinary treatment of chronic skin problems, such as lichen, together with conventional approaches to improve therapeutic outcomes.

Revisión en la materia médica de 10 medicamentos útiles para el tratamiento homeopático del duelo complicado / Review in the medical field of 10 medicines useful for the homeopathic treatment of complicated grief

El duelo complicado es definido como el proceso alterado de adaptación a una nueva realidad, posterior a una perdida afectiva, en el cual se presentan síntomas anormalmente intensos y/o prolongados, generando interferencia en el funcionamiento normal de las personas, lo que puede llegar a cronificarse indefinidamente. El duelo complicado esta precedido de unos factores de riesgo ya determinados, relacionados con las características del difunto, el doliente, relación doliente - difunto y las circunstancias de la muerte, el diagnostico de duelo complicado es realizado por medio de diferentes herramientas como cuestionarios, genogramas y auto informes diseñados para tal fin; como tratamiento de primera línea es utilizada la psicoterapia dirigida para duelo complicado o psicoterapia transpersonal y como segunda opción la farmacoterapia con antidepresivos en la mayoría de los casos, el uso de la homeopatía para el manejo del duelo complicado se encontró de forma reducida. Luego de realizar una revisión de los síntomas del duelo complicado se realiza la repertorizacion homeopática, encontrando que los medicamentos más indicados para este trastorno según sus síntomas, son: Natrum ­ Muriaticum, Aurum Metallicum, Pulsatilla, Ignatia y Causticum. Teniendo en cuenta que prima la totalidad sintomática e individualidad en cada caso, para la escogencia del medicamento, con el resultado de la repertorizacion se realiza una revisión de la materia médica con énfasis en las particularidades de los síntomas mentales de cada medicamento.

Derivation of an empirical relation between the size of the nanoparticle and the potency of homeopathic medicines

Homeopathic medicines are often prescribed at very high dilutions and it is a clinically observed fact that the medicinal effect of the drug remains even at these high dilutions. The increase in potency of a medicine due to potentization is still debatable from physico-chemical point of view. Out of various hypotheses to explain this phenomenon, a recent hypothesis, advanced by us and supported by others, is that the size of the constituent particles decreases and eventually achieves nano dimension due to potentization. From the experiments performed by our group, the size of nanoparticles (NPs) of Cuprum metallicum, Zincum oxydatum, Aurum metallicum, Ferrum metallicum and Aconitum napellus (6cH, 30cH and 200cH) have been estimated. A general mathematical expression of the form y = a x-n has been derived which relates the size of NPs (y) with the corresponding potencies (x). There is no method to calculate the accurate potency of the homeopathic medicine, as the potency of a medicine depends to some extent on the method of preparation, for which a standardized procedure is warranted. High dilutions of homeopathic remedies induce relaxation of rat aorta precontracted with noradrenalin

BACKGROUND Homeopathic potencies have been reported to produce alteration of contraction in isolated rat ileum in an organ bath. Potentized homeopathic drugs like Lycopus V and Aurum met are used for the treatment of hypertension. AIM The purpose of this study is to see whether Lycopus V 30 CH and Aurum met 30 CH could produce relaxation of isolated rat aorta in the organ bath. METHODS The aorta of rats were dissected out, placed in Krebs-Henseleit solution, cleared of connective tissue and endothelium and cut into 2-2.5 mm long rings. The rings were fixed in organ baths with the upper end connected by a string to an isometric transducer which was finally attached through a data acquisitation equipment to a computer. Aurum met 30 CH Lycopus V 30 CH, and their medium 90% ethanol were added separately to the bathing fluid containing the aorta rings which were precontracted with noradrenalin (NA). RESULTS Both the drugs produced significant relaxation of the aorta (p<0.001) precontracted with NA (10-7 M). The control did not show any marked effect on the NA induced contraction of aorta. CONCLUSION A potentised drug is thought to be specifically structured water which can transform the water structure in the bathing fluid and the isolated tissue immersed in the fluid into its own form. This in turn produces the observed relaxation. Both Lycopus V 30 CH and Aurum met 30 CH are effective in reducing NA induced contraction of rat aorta. Introdução e objetivo: Segundo alguns estudos, diluições homeopáticas alteram a contratilidade de íleo isolado de rato, em banho de órgãos. Os medicamentos homeopáticos como Aurum metallicum Lycopus virginicus são usados no tratamento da hipertensão. O objetivo deste estudo foi determinar se Lycps 30 cH e Aur 30 cH podem induzir o relaxamento da aorta isolada de ratos, em banho de órgãos. Métodos: A aorta foi dissecada e, livre de tecido conjuntivo e endotelio, foi colocada em solução de Krebs-Henseleit, sendo seccionada em anéis de 2 a 2,5 cm de comprimento. Os anéis foram fixados em banho de órgãos, a extremidade superior ligada por um cabo a um transdutor isométrico, por sua vez ligado a dispositivos de registro de dados em um computador. Aur 30 cH, Lycps 30 cH e etanol 90%, foram adicionados separadamente ao líquido do banho contendo os anéis de aorta previamente contraídas pela noradrenalina (NA) ou norpinefrina (NE). Resultados: Os dois medicamentos testados induziram relaxamento significativo (p <0,001), do preparada de aorta contraída por NA (10-7 M), enquanto que a solução de controle não produziu efeitos significativos. Conclusão: Ambas as drogas foram usadas em diluições homeopáticas demasiado elevadas para admitir a presença de moléculas da substância original. Assim, o mecanismo farmacológico tradicional envolvendo as moléculas da droga e receptores no músculo liso da aorta deve ser descartado. Embora reconhecidamente diferente, o mecanismo envolvido permanece desconhecido. Lycps 30 e Aur 30 CH mostraram-se eficazes na redução da contratilidade da aorta de ratos, induzida por NA. As drogas podem agir diretamente na aorta isolada de ratos sem influência sistêmica. (AU)

La curacionde casos cronicos / The healing of chronic cases

Se presentan 3 historias clinicas de pacientes que se curaran despues de una severa agravacion homeopatica con potencias medianas (30CH), peropor un tiempo mayor del usual (10 dias). Son casos lesionados o por lo menos severamente suprimidos con alopatia por anos como son la mayoria de los casos cronicos que vemos ahora. (AU)
